Standardizing Product Naming Conventions on Quotes and Elsewhere
Product quotes for EES have the line item as GitLab Enterprise Edition. Quotes for EEP have the line item GitLab EE Premium. Can we get these to be more consistent with one another?
While we're doing this, we should probably give some thought to the overall naming convention, including the .com offerings. There is a strong desire from Sales to keep this simple; customers hate complex product and pricing schemes. If they don't understand it they will simply go elsewhere. For example, it would be nice if we simply had the following (i.e. dropping the word "edition":
On-prem:
GitLab Community
GitLab Enterprise Starter
GitLab Enterprise Premium
GitLab Enterprise Ultimate
.Com:
GitLab Community
GitLab Enterprise Starter
GitLab Enterprise Premium
GitLab Enterprise Ultimate
In other works they are the same.
I'm interested in getting input from others on this topic.
