✂️ UX Paper Cuts 17.0 → Search and Filter

Feature changes

• Duplicate Groups display when filtering with a ... (#442713) • Unassigned • Backlog
• Move filter component above tabs
• Sort projects by member count
• Highlight text that's being searched
• De-duplicate labels (I can't remember if this scenario happens because the label exists as both a project and a group label, or it was promoted from project to group, or something else entirely 🤷)

Bug/UI fixes

• Recently used filter dropdowns suggest options you've already selected:

• If you type too quickly, autocomplete doesn't always work
• Check color contrast of borders
• Migrate dropdowns of filtered search to GlDisclosureDropdown/GlListbox
• Changing the operator misaligns the selected filter token:

Global search

• Search results layout
  • Standardize font sizes
  • Standardize vertical spacing between search and results
  • Update list items to match other results pages
• Empty state for https://gitlab.com/search
• Empty state when no results found
• Remove avatar from Any filter in sidebar dropdowns:

• Syntax options / Search tips UI text --> should they be the same (check with tech writing)

Accessibility

• Filtered search --> selecting option from dropdown loses focus
