Option to put events into top header

The mock up below shows "events" in two places, both in the top header near the search icon, messages etc and also in the navbar under the "events" link.

Historically we have had issues with the number of items in the navbar particularly on smaller screens, thus it may be useful to have the option of displaying it as an icon only in that top user menu:
