Update Sick Time policy offering more time away to care for an ill family member
Why is this change being made?
Statutory leave and/or pay to care for an ill family member are often not available to team members in many countries. This leads to team members either needing to take time away unpaid, or continue to work while caring to their family member. I'm recommending we broaden out GitLab's Sick Time policy offering an additional 25 working days of paid Sick Leave for team members needing to care for an ill family member. Leave to care for a family member is oftentimes not a heavily utilized as we saw in 2022 when only 3 out of the 379 leaves were to care for a family member.
