Blog post on a contributor success story (Kik on ActivityPub)
I did an interview over email with the contributor Kik. This contributor has also been featured in a YouTube video that received more than 9K views, as well as 82 comments. Together with @derekferguson, he's implementing in small iterations towards a new GitLab feature, while collaborating with GitLab team members to find the smallest next step together.
MRs:
- gitlab-org/gitlab!123674 (merged)
- gitlab-org/gitlab!127023 (merged) (a lot of collab!)
Epic:
My aim with thie article is to tell a success story about getting community contributions merged into GitLab.
I'd like to avoid unintentionally making false promises on the direction GitLab (the product) will take as a result of these contributions. Perhaps many of the opinions should be moved to another location, except for the necessary bits that explain where his passion came from.
