Request legal help for adding a license

Seth Berger requested to merge sethgitlab-license into master

The existing recommendation is to add the https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/blob/master/LICENSE license.

However that license assumes that all new repositories are structured using a /ee structure for enterprise features.

New repositories are not necessarily using the /ee structure. If they do not use the /ee structure, incorporating the standard license would mean that the code license is defaulted to MIT based on this line in the above license file.

Content outside of the above mentioned directories or restrictions above is available under the "MIT Expat" license as defined below.

This may not be desirable.

Instead a maintainer should work with legal to ensure that the appropriate license is provided in the repo.
