Based on the thread on slack https://gitlab.slack.com/archives/CLM1D8QR0/p1677176913455149 it seems out docs don't reflect the behaviour as found within GitLab. SSO enforcement for web should logically apply to UI interactions while SSO check for git option should enforce SSO session for git operations.
