Allow use of mapMutations to prevent needless action

What does this MR do?

Remove some docs to prevent unnecessary wrapper actions.

  1. Remove things saying "don't commit mutations directly"
  2. Remove example mutations file (it is not related to adjacent docs)
  3. Remove gotchas section (2/3 no longer relevant, note to use mutation_types not really needed)
