Make `requires_python` an optional parameter when publishing PyPI packages
What does this MR do?
You can use the GitLab Package Registry to publish and install PyPI packages to your project. The problem is that GitLab requires the parameter requires_python
, which according to the Core spec is optional. This can prevent some users from uploading their required packages to the registry.
This MR makes the field optional as per https://packaging.python.org/specifications/core-metadata/. It adds a test to confirm that packages uploaded without this data can still be uploaded. And it fixes an issue in the docs where the field was labeled incorrectly in the example response.
