docs: Omnibus supports only `GITLAB_OMNIBUS_CONFIG` environment variable
See the general Documentation guidelines: https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/development/documentation/.
What does this MR do?
according to #2954 (comment 51186322), Omnibus supports only GITLAB_OMNIBUS_CONFIG
environment variable, current document made me misunderstood
for example, If you need to use external PostgreSQL, you cannot use DATABASE_URL
, you should use
--env GITLAB_OMNIBUS_CONFIG="postgresql['enable'] = false; gitlab_rails['db_adapter'] = 'postgresql'; gitlab_rails['db_encoding'] = 'utf8'; gitlab_rails['db_username'] = 'your username'; gitlab_rails['db_password'] = 'your password'; gitlab_rails['db_host'] = 'your external db host';"
configurations is from https://docs.gitlab.com/omnibus/settings/database.html#using-a-non-packaged-postgresql-database-management-server
