OChime is to replace the propriatery PCB with an Open Source one, for
the sole purpose of replacing the micro controller.

Could this have been done easier, by just replacing the Micro? Sure but
then we still would have needed to make a PCB to convert the signal pin
positions. If we have to make a PCB, lets just replace the entire PCB
and add some more powering options.
