fixes linting errors also fixes tokens, ellipses, focus styles and centers pagination too

NB this is the same code as in this MR !142 (closed) but I'm creating it as a separate MR for Niall and I to work on together but I wanted to optimise the chances of fixing the broken build hence two MR's
