Increase delay of tooltip on show
What does this MR do?
Closes #1364 (closed). Increases the delay of gl-tooltip
on show
. This prevents the tooltip from showing when someone accidentally hovers a button, then the tooltip covering an adjacent button, like so:
The benefits of this solution:
- Helps prevent accidental hovers and tooltips covering adjacent buttons/links
- Gives the user enough time to mouse out of an element with a tooltip if accidentally hovered
- Still meets the accessibility success criteria for tooltips: https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/content-on-hover-or-focus.html

Conformity
-
Code review guidelines. -
GitLab UI's contributing guidlines. -
If it changes a Pajamas-compliant component's look & feel, the MR has been reviewed by a UX designer. -
If it changes GitLab UI's documentation guidelines, the MR has been reviewed by a Technical Writer. -

All actions and functionality can be done with a keyboard. -
Links, buttons, and controls have a visible focus state. -
All content is presented in text or with a text equivalent. For example, alt text for SVG, or aria-label
for icons that have meaning or perform actions. -
Changes in a component’s state are announced by a screen reader. For example, changing aria-expanded="false"
toaria-expanded="true"
when an accordion is expanded. -
Color combinations have sufficient contrast.
